Markelle Fultz signs a 10-day contract with the Toronto Raptors. The former No. 1 pick joins the team after spending time with Raptors 905 in the G League. Fultz, 27, last played in the NBA during the 2022-23 season with the Sacramento Kings, appearing in 21 games. Injuries have hindered his career since the Philadelphia 76ers drafted him in 2017, limiting him to fewer than 20 games in his first two seasons. Fultz has transformed into a solid defensive guard, showcasing his offensive skills as well. His standout season came last year with the Orlando Magic, where he averaged 14 points and 5.7 assists, shooting 51.4% from the field. The Raptors are in a fierce battle with the Hawks, 76ers, Magic, Heat, and Hornets to secure their spot in the Eastern Conference play-in.
