The Golden State Warriors sign forward Gui Santos to a three-year, $15 million contract extension. The deal features a player option for the 2028-29 season. Santos, drafted 55th overall from Brazil in 2022, has developed into a key player for the Warriors. After starting his career with the Santa Cruz Warriors, he joined the main roster and has proven his worth. Over the last two months, Santos steps into a starting role, filling in for the injured Jimmy Butler. He scores in double figures in 11 of the last 12 games and averages 31 minutes per game this month. At just 24 years old, Santos was set for restricted free agency in July, but the Warriors lock him in, ensuring his presence for at least two more seasons.
