Zach Edey undergoes another surgery on his left ankle. The Memphis Grizzlies center has been sidelined since December 7 due to a stress reaction. Edey, standing at 7-foot-3, averages 13.6 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks over 11 games this season. The operation aims to address persistent discomfort and bone stress. Edey previously had surgery on the same ankle in June after being named to the All-Rookie first team. The 23-year-old, a two-time AP National Player of the Year at Purdue, missed 12 games in his rookie season with a sprained left ankle. The Grizzlies expect a full recovery, with a timeline to be announced post-surgery. Additionally, forward Brandon Clarke will be reevaluated in approximately two weeks. Clarke has been out since December 20 due to a strained right calf.
