Joe Brady steps into the role of head coach for the Buffalo Bills, taking over from Sean McDermott after his firing in January. At just 36, he faces the challenge of leading the franchise to its first Super Bowl, equipped with MVP quarterback Josh Allen. Brady reflects on his coaching journey, starting with lessons learned under James Franklin at Penn State, where attention to detail shaped his approach.
His time with Sean Payton at the New Orleans Saints taught him to exploit opponents' weaknesses while leveraging his team's strengths. "It's about matching the best person to their vulnerabilities," Brady explains.
Brady's stint at LSU as passing game coordinator furthered his growth. Under Ed Orgeron, he learned the importance of authenticity and delegation, realizing that comfort in one's own skin is vital for leadership success.
During his LSU tenure, Brady was part of a championship-winning team featuring stars like Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase, earning the 2019 Broyles Award for his contributions. Now, in Buffalo, he aims to apply these hard-earned lessons as he builds a new vision for the Bills.
