The Dallas Cowboys are poised for a major turnaround, according to FOX Sports NFL analyst Mark Schlereth. This comes after a disappointing 2025 season where they finished 7-9-1 and missed the playoffs for the second consecutive year.
Schlereth believes the Cowboys will not only surpass their win total of 9.5 but could also dethrone the Philadelphia Eagles to win the NFC East. He emphasizes the team’s strength in the trenches, stating, "I think they have plenty of talent... that says the Dallas Cowboys are frontrunners to win their division."
The Cowboys have bolstered their roster significantly, drafting defensive talents like No. 11 overall pick Caleb Downs and No. 23 pick Malachi Lawrence. Their revamped offensive line, featuring Tyler Guyton, Tyler Smith, Cooper Beebe, Tyler Booker, and Terrance Steele, sets a solid foundation.
On defense, the addition of edge rushers Quinnen Williams, Kenny Clark, Rashan Gary, and Lawrence enhances a front seven that struggled last season. Schlereth highlights the importance of dominance at the line of scrimmage, stating, "You control both lines of scrimmage in the National Football League, you’re going to win a lot of football games."
With a revamped roster, the Cowboys are ready to make noise in the 2026 season.
