Micah Parsons, the Green Bay Packers' star pass-rusher, reveals he's at least four months away from returning to the field after tearing his ACL. This news could drastically impact the Packers' chances as they aim for NFC contention next season.
Parsons shared his recovery timeline with reporters, indicating he might begin the 2026 NFL season on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. This status would sideline him for the first four games against the Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If he misses additional time, crucial matchups against the Chicago Bears and a revenge game against the Dallas Cowboys could also be in jeopardy.
Last season, Parsons made a significant impact with 12.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and 41 tackles over 14 games. The Packers traded for him, sending defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round picks to the Cowboys, securing a four-year, $186 million extension. Despite his injury, Parsons expressed confidence in his recovery, stating he aims to be the best player on the field upon his return.
With the departure of defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley and the trade of edge rusher Rashan Gary, the Packers' defense will face challenges as they look to improve on last season's performance.
