Odell Beckham Jr. takes a significant step toward a potential return to the New York Giants after completing a workout and physical at the team's facility. This could set the stage for a reunion with the franchise that drafted him 12 years ago.
Beckham, now 33, did not play last season due to a six-game suspension for violating performance-enhancing drug regulations. In 2024, he appeared in nine games with the Miami Dolphins, recording nine catches for 55 yards. His first five NFL seasons were spent with the Giants, who selected him 12th overall in the 2014 draft before trading him to the Cleveland Browns in 2019. The Giants used the draft pick from that trade to select defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, who was recently traded to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Beckham’s return would bolster the Giants' wide receiver depth, especially with uncertainty surrounding No. 1 wideout Malik Nabers, who may not be ready for the season opener after tearing his ACL in late September. The Giants have also added free agents Calvin Austin, Darnell Mooney, and Ryan Miller while re-signing Isaiah Hodgins, following the loss of slot receiver Wan'Dale Robinson to Tennessee after his impressive 1,000-yard season.
