Bui Anh Tuan, the Director of Seanata Sailing Yacht and Technical Services Joint Stock Company, emphasized that this was a historic event for Vietnam as it marked the first international regatta utilizing FE19R boats.

Competitive Spirit and Remarkable Performances

Furthermore, the competition took place over three days, from July 17 to July 19, with nine races held along the scenic coastline between Nha Trang Centre and Hon Tre Island. The team from Japan, Shinmoji Marina Yacht Club, emerged as the overall winners. They were followed by Singapore’s Team Knotty Kids in second place and South Korea’s Moana Sailing in third.

In particular, Yuya Yoshino from Shinmoji Marina Yacht Club expressed his admiration for the local infrastructure and the stunning natural beauty of Nha Trang Bay. Despite facing lighter winds in the early part of the regatta, Yoshino described the experience as unforgettable for him and his team.

Notably, the leaders of the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism highlighted the region’s potential for maritime sports. With its favorable weather and extensive coastline, Khanh Hoa is well-positioned to become a significant player in the sailing community. The province has previously hosted various large-scale maritime events, enhancing its reputation as a premier destination for sailing.

Moreover, the VPS Cup Fareast 19R Open is expected to pave the way for future international competitions in the area. Simon, a German competitor with over a decade of experience in Vietnam, shared his excitement about participating in such a major event. He noted that sailing in Nha Trang Bay was a fantastic experience, adding to the charm of this picturesque location.
