Florida Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov targets a return “soon” after undergoing surgery in September to repair two major ligaments in his right knee. Barkov, who has yet to play this season, remains optimistic as the Panthers chase a playoff spot, currently eight points off a wild-card position.
He has been skating for weeks and is eager to make his season debut. Barkov made headlines this week with a donation of at least $1 million to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, now featuring the Barkov Sports Medicine section.
He has supported the hospital since 2019, following a hat trick against Montreal. Panthers coach Paul Maurice praises Barkov’s impact: “Two Selkes, two Stanley Cups... we would be a better team.” Barkov expresses confidence in his recovery process: “I know I’m in good hands... I hope to be back with the team very soon.”
