Leon Draisaitl is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season for the Edmonton Oilers due to a lower-body injury. The star forward, with 97 points in 65 games, suffered the injury from a hit by Ozzy Wiesblatt during the first period of Sunday’s win over Nashville. Although he returned briefly, he couldn’t start the second period. Coach Kris Knoblauch noted that medical staff indicated it “shouldn’t be a really long injury.” The Oilers, currently in third place in the Pacific Division, face an uphill battle for a playoff spot without Draisaitl, who accounts for 41% of their goals this season. Edmonton has 14 games left and trails the Anaheim Ducks by two points and the Vegas Golden Knights by one. Jason Dickinson steps in as the second-line center during Draisaitl's absence.
