The Buffalo Sabres acquire defensemen Logan Stanley and Luke Schenn from the Winnipeg Jets ahead of the NHL trade deadline. Buffalo sends forward prospect Isak Rosen, defenseman Jacob Bryson, a 2027 second-round pick, and either their fourth-round pick or the Edmonton Oilers' fourth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft. The Jets retain 50% of Schenn's contract. Stanley, with a $1.25 million cap hit, records a career-high 21 points in 59 games this season. Schenn, a seasoned 36-year-old, has a $1.375 million cap hit and contributes one goal and six assists in 46 games. This marks Schenn's fifth team since 2021 and he's a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Tampa Bay Lightning. In a separate move, Buffalo acquires center Sam Carrick from the New York Rangers for a 2026 third-round pick and a sixth-round pick from Chicago.
