The Stanley Cup suffers damage after the Florida Panthers celebrate their second straight championship. The iconic trophy features a cracked bowl and a dented bottom. The Panthers clinched the title on home ice, defeating Edmonton in six games. Following tradition, the team partied with the Cup into the early hours and continued the festivities in Fort Lauderdale. A spokesperson for the Hockey Hall of Fame confirms plans to repair the trophy before the celebration parade on Sunday. Made from silver and nickel alloy, the 37-pound Cup is known for its malleability. This isn’t the first time it has faced mishaps; the Cup has been submerged in pools and mishandled for over a century. Recent incidents include the Tampa Bay Lightning dropping it during their 2021 boat parade and the Colorado Avalanche denting it on the ice in 2022.
