The National Women's Sailing Association (NWSA) sets the stage for AdventureSail® Day 2026, scheduled for August 8, 2026. This initiative aims to inspire and empower young girls across the nation by introducing them to the world of sailing.
AdventureSail® has been a cornerstone program for over 20 years, promoting access to sailing for girls aged 9-14. In collaboration with US Sailing, the program addresses the barriers that limit young women's participation in the sport. Each event pairs local hosts with girls' organizations, creating opportunities for hands-on sailing experiences alongside inspiring female mentors.
Participants not only learn sailing skills but also develop teamwork, leadership, and self-esteem, laying the groundwork for lifelong engagement in sailing. NWSA supports hosts with vital resources to ensure each event is safe and impactful.
This year, yacht clubs, sailing schools, and community programs are urged to join in, offering girls the chance to experience the thrill of sailing. Organizations interested in hosting or learning more about AdventureSail® are encouraged to visit the NWSA website. The impact of this initiative goes beyond sailing—it shapes the future of female sailors.
