Yan Diomande is eyeing a potential move to Liverpool as the club seeks a replacement for Mohamed Salah. This transfer situation could reshape Liverpool's attacking strategy for the upcoming season.

With Salah set to depart at the end of the season, Liverpool's owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), are actively pursuing Diomande from RB Leipzig, who has emerged as their primary target. Talks with Diomande's representatives are already underway, aiming for an agreement before the summer's 2026 World Cup. Leipzig demands €100 million (£87 million) for the 19-year-old winger, whose value is expected to rise.

Despite Diomande’s interest in joining one of the Premier League’s giants, Leipzig is determined to keep him for another season. The German club prefers to negotiate a future transfer while potentially securing Diomande with a new contract featuring a significant release clause. Sources indicate that Leipzig might delay any exit until 2027.

Liverpool is open to such a compromise, believing they could secure Diomande for less than €100 million if they wait another year. Meanwhile, they are cooling interest in Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, as major rivals like Manchester United and Chelsea show stronger pursuit.
