Liverpool’s new head coach Andoni Iraola eyes Francisco Trincao as a potential signing, signaling trouble in their pursuit of Yan Diomande. This shift could reshape Liverpool's attacking lineup this summer.

With Mohamed Salah's exit looming and Cody Gakpo struggling, Liverpool desperately needs wingers. Reports indicate that RB Leipzig's Diomande was their primary target, but the Bundesliga club values him highly, requiring over €130 million (£112.4m, $151.2m) to consider a sale. David Ornstein of The Athletic reveals that Leipzig is confident Diomande will remain with them for another season, particularly since he isn’t pushing for a transfer.

As the situation unfolds, Iraola has turned his attention to Trincao from Sporting CP, who is now a top priority for Liverpool. The Portuguese winger's €60 million release clause is significantly more manageable compared to Diomande’s hefty price tag. However, negotiations for Trincao may stall until after the World Cup, as Sporting prefers to postpone talks until then.

Meanwhile, PSG also expresses keen interest in Diomande, complicating Liverpool's plans further. With these dynamics at play, the Reds could pivot to secure Trincao, aiming to bolster their wing options ahead of the new season.
