The All Blacks coaching staff faces a major shake-up with Dave Rennie's appointment as head coach. New Zealand Rugby must approve Rennie’s wishlist for fresh talent ahead of the Rugby World Cup. Departures of Leon MacDonald and Jason Holland leave at least one position vacant, with more potential exits from Scott Robertson’s staff. Jamie Joseph, Rennie's rival, initially sought to retain Robertson's assistants but pivoted after his ambitious plan fell through. He approached Joe Schmidt, Ian Foster, Tony Brown, and Kendrick Lynn, all of whom declined. Rennie targets Neil Barnes, a former Chiefs coach and Six Nations: Full Contact star, along with strength coach Phil Healey and Mike Blair, a former scrum-half. Andrew Strawbridge, a skilled coach from the Chiefs and England, is also in the mix. Jason Ryan and Scott Hansen may remain due to their existing contracts.
