Edinburgh Rugby shakes up its coaching staff by bringing in Brad Davis as defence coach for the upcoming season. This strategic move comes as the club aims to revitalize its performance, currently sitting 13th in the United Rugby Championship (URC).

Davis, a seasoned coach with over two decades of experience, joins from Queensland Reds on a two-year deal. His background includes roles with the Wallabies, Bath, Wasps, and Ospreys, providing him with a rich coaching pedigree. Known for his success in building robust defensive units, Davis previously helped Bath lift the EPCR Challenge Cup.

The reshuffle sees assistant skills coach Rob Chrystie, defence coach Michael Todd, and attack and backs coach Scott Mathie depart, leaving only forwards coach Steve Lawrie to continue alongside head coach Sean Everitt. Lawrie's contract extension was announced on Monday.

Davis expresses enthusiasm about joining Edinburgh, highlighting the club's strong identity and passionate support. He aims to establish a resilient and aggressive defence, emphasizing the motivation this role brings him. Everitt reinforces the significance of Davis's appointment, noting his extensive experience and the immediate impact he is expected to have on the team’s direction.
