Rugby Championship : Leinster's RG Snyman sidelined for season due to serious injury

RG Snyman will miss the rest of the season after suffering a ruptured ACL, confirmed Leinster. The injury occurred during Leinster's 38-17 defeat to Glasgow Warriors. Snyman, a key player since joining from Munster, also missed the recent win over Scarlets. This setback raises concerns for Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus ahead of the 2026 Test season.

Leinster's statement reads: "RG Snyman will be unavailable for the remainder of the season after suffering a ruptured ACL against Glasgow Warriors." Snyman has made 31 appearances for Leinster and was instrumental in their league title victory last season.

Leinster faces additional injury worries ahead of their Investec Champions Cup clash against Edinburgh. James Ryan, Tadhg Furlong, Jimmy O’Brien, and Garry Ringrose are all injury doubts, pending assessments. O’Brien, Ringrose, and Furlong were substituted in the last game, while Ryan missed the squad due to injury concerns from the Six Nations.

Meanwhile, Jamie Osborne, Ryan Baird, and Cormac Foley return to the squad. British and Irish Lions prop Andrew Porter is fit for selection after a successful outing against Scarlets. Leinster will announce their team on Friday.
