SA Rugby appoints Joe Lewis as performance analyst for the Springboks. Lewis, a former technical analyst for England, Scarlets, and Ospreys, brings extensive experience to the team. He previously served as England’s head analyst from 2017 to 2021 and continued as a senior analyst until the end of the recent Six Nations. Lewis holds a master’s degree in performance analysis from Cardiff Metropolitan University. He joins the Springboks ahead of the international season opener against the Barbarians in Gqeberha on June 20. Following that match, South Africa hosts England, Scotland, and Wales in the Nations Championship before facing Argentina. The Springboks then compete in the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry series against New Zealand, followed by a Test against the Wallabies. Coach Rassie Erasmus expresses excitement about Lewis’s addition, highlighting his valuable experience at major tournaments, including the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
