Rugby Australia strengthens the Wallabies' coaching team by hiring former All Blacks assistant Scott McLeod as the new defence coach. This marks the first addition to head coach Les Kiss' staff. McLeod, who has extensive experience, previously worked with the All Blacks during the 2019 and 2023 Rugby World Cups and is currently an assistant at Japan's Kubota Spears. He replaces Laurie Fisher, who transitions to a consultancy role. McLeod expresses excitement about returning to international rugby and collaborating with Kiss and the team. Peter Horne, RA's director of high performance, emphasizes McLeod's reputation and experience, highlighting his contributions from the Highlanders' Super Rugby title in 2015 to the recent World Cup final. Horne also acknowledges Fisher’s valuable contributions to Australian Rugby, celebrating his ongoing involvement as a consultant.
