Emirates Team New Zealand unveils the underside of their revamped AC75, gearing up to defend the America's Cup in Naples, July 2027. The team anticipates sailing tomorrow out of Auckland, maintaining the same configuration as their successful campaign in Barcelona. With a limit of 45 sailing days until mid-January 2027, every moment counts. Design team leader Dan Bernasconi confirms they will utilize the same wingfoils from the last Cup, with significant updates in the deck area and a shift to push-button adjustments for control systems. The team faces a challenge as only three crew members have prior AC75 experience, necessitating initial sailing days for crew familiarization and system checks. While today presents ideal conditions for shakedown sailing, forecasted stronger breezes prompt an early morning start instead. Emirates Team New Zealand will not compete with the AC75 in Europe this summer, opting for their AC40 program to prepare for Naples.
