The MAC 24 Hour Challenge kicks off at Milnerton Aquatic Club in Cape Town, South Africa. 24 teams take on the test to sail the farthest distance non-stop within 24 hours. This marks the 27th edition of the event. Participants include Sea Scout and Cadet groups from Knysna and Saldanha, alongside local competitors from Cape Town Sailing Clubs.

The fleet features 11 Saldanha Dinghies, 7 Sonnets, 2 420s, 2 Mirrors, 1 Topaz, and 1 Enterprise. The two Mirror dinghies from Saldanha shine, bolstered by vibrant shore support, singing and cheering as they complete their laps. Sailors contend with light wind conditions, requiring careful crew positioning to maintain speed.

By early morning, the wind shifts to a light W/NW, allowing boats to finish in a moderate breeze. John "Guppy" Visser from Durbanville earns the Endurance trophy after sailing the full 24 hours in a Saldanha dinghy. A thrilling battle for overall laps emerges between the MAC Enterprise Electra Glide and a Sonnet from ZVYC, both ending with 94 laps. The Sonnet claims victory by just 17 seconds after the full duration. Another successful event from Milnerton Aquatic Club, with gratitude to new sponsor Ullman Sails.
