Seahawks Secure Jaxon Smith-Njigba as NFL's Top-Paid WR

Jaxon Smith-Njigba secures his place in NFL history with a record-breaking four-year, $168.6 million extension from the Seattle Seahawks, making him the highest-paid wide receiver ever. The deal features a staggering $120 million in guaranteed money and pays Smith-Njigba $42.15 million annually—outpacing Cincinnati Bengals’ Ja'Marr Chase by nearly $2 million. This extension comes shortly after the Seahawks activated Smith-Njigba's fifth-year option.

Smith-Njigba, who captured Offensive Player of the Year honors and a Super Bowl title in 2025, recorded 119 receptions for a league-best 1,793 yards last season. Meanwhile, cornerback Devon Witherspoon also sees his fifth-year option picked up, positioning him for an extension this offseason. The Seahawks are focused on retaining their core as they navigate departures, including running back Kenneth Walker III to the Kansas City Chiefs.
