St. Francis Yacht Club clinches its third consecutive title at the Women's 2v2 Team Racing Championships, maintaining an impressive undefeated record of 7-0. This victory highlights the power of teamwork and consistency, crucial elements for their success.
The team, featuring the same roster for three years, excels in boat handling and communication, fostering deep trust among its members. "We have a phenomenal team," said captain Kate Shiber, emphasizing their ability to adapt during races. Skipper Molly Carapiet added that their extensive practice on J/22s contributes to their sharp skills in high-pressure situations.
The event, part of the New York Yacht Club's prestigious summer regattas, faced challenging weather conditions, including a canceled first day due to severe winds. However, competitors rallied, showcasing their skills across diverse racing conditions. St. Francis triumphed in a tightly contested series, finishing with 11 points, while Larchmont Yacht Club secured second place with 7 points and Newport Harbor Yacht Club took third with 4 points.
