The final heat of the Manly 16ft Skiff Sailing Club Championship is abandoned due to severe weather, breaking a 104-year-old tradition. A torrential downpour, lightning, and poor visibility force officials to call off the race, denying a showdown between series leader Red Pumps Red (Zoe Dransfield/Hugh and Jamie Stodart) and Buckingham Marine Services (Daniel Turner/Gus Williams/Matt Stenta), who trail by three points. Dransfield makes history as the first female skipper to win the championship, leading the first mixed-gender team to claim the title. RPR’s consistency shines through, with four heat victories this season. “It’s been a great season for us,” says Dransfield. In the 13s' club championship, Harken (Heidi Bates/Orlando Sadlik) is already crowned champions before the final race is also abandoned.
