Topps returns to the NFL as the exclusive trading card licensee, announced by Fanatics Collectibles, the NFL, and the NFL Players Association. After a ten-year hiatus, Topps last produced NFL cards in 2016. The comeback features Rookie PREM1ERE Patch Autograph cards, showcasing patches from the jerseys of 2025 rookies like New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward, and New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson.
Additionally, the NFL Honors Gold Shield Autograph cards will include game-worn patches from the 2024 major award winners, featuring stars like Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, and Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels. Exclusive trading cards will also highlight NFL stars under Fanatics contracts, including Tom Brady, Drake Maye, and C.J. Stroud.
The first release, 2025 Topps Chrome Football, hits the market on April 15, with pre-orders opening on Friday. NFL SVP of consumer products Casey Collins emphasizes the partnership's goal to enhance fan engagement and grow the trading card hobby. Fanatics Collectibles CEO Mike Mahan expresses excitement for innovation and storytelling through their products. Topps and Fanatics now hold exclusive trading card licenses for three major U.S. sports leagues, including the NBA and MLB.
