Toulon Provence Regatta 2026 marks a significant return for the 2.4 fleet, racing alongside the iconic 12mRs. This unique event showcases the synergy between classic and modern sailing, highlighting why it’s a must-watch for enthusiasts.

As the regatta enters its third year, following the Olympic Torch's visit in 2024, participation continues to grow. This year, 25 boats from six countries compete in a thrilling atmosphere, alongside Metric boats and innovative AI-controlled yachts. Over 1,400 spectators flocked to the event, surpassing typical boat show attendance.

Competitors experienced challenging conditions in Toulon’s tricky bay. Race director Gil Bernabeau expertly set the course, allowing for exciting matches despite light winds. Michael Tiemann of Germany and France’s Christophe Ettore made early impressions, closely trailing Great Britain’s Megan Pascoe.

On Saturday, an easterly front brought a lively 18 knots, creating a captivating scene as the 12mRs set sail nearby. Benoit Melon from France and Janos Libor of Gibraltar emerged as top contenders, showcasing the competitive spirit of the fleet.

Supported by over 150 volunteers, the event thrives thanks to their hard work, particularly organizer Patsy, who handles translations and logistics. The 2.4 fleet now looks forward to the Poole Keelboat Regatta and the World Championships in Sneek, Netherlands, this July.
