Itchenor Sailing Club Welcomes Competitors
Meanwhile, the annual regatta at Itchenor Sailing Club brought together a diverse fleet of twenty-five XODs. Among them were three visitors from outside the area. The weather conditions were almost perfect, with sunshine and wind present on four out of five days. This setup allowed for exciting two-hour races throughout the harbour, making it a memorable week.

John Tremlett's Stellar Performance
Additionally, John Tremlett, sailing his boat Astralita, delivered an outstanding performance throughout the regatta. He secured four first-place finishes and a second that was ultimately discarded. From the very start of each race, Tremlett consistently positioned himself among the leaders. His speed and strategy proved to be unmatched, solidifying his status as a top contender.

Challengers and Competitors
Furthermore, the battle for second and third place was equally thrilling. Roger Yeoman, aboard Xcitation, finished with a first, two thirds, and a fifth, securing a solid second overall. Meanwhile, Richard Faukner, representing Hamble in Swallow, claimed third place with two seconds, a fourth, and a fifth. Both racers displayed remarkable skill and determination.
In addition, a group of approximately ten boats competed closely for the title of "best of the rest."
