**WEC: Genesis admits "anxiety" at Le Mans: "We haven't done a 24h test"**
As the 24 Hours of Le Mans approaches, Genesis Magma Racing, a newcomer to the WEC, is facing a worrying reality: the lack of significant endurance tests highlights the colossal challenges that lie ahead. This situation reveals the scale of the task for a team still in the learning phase.
Despite an encouraging entry into the championship, marked by an eighth place finish at the 6 Hours of Spa, Genesis has faced growing pains with its GMR-001. Team director Cyril Abiteboul speaks of climbing an Everest too soon, emphasizing the anxiety that accompanies this first participation. Reliability issues during the first two races required special attention, and even though solutions have been identified, time is running out to validate them in real conditions.
The team is dealing with logistical and regulatory constraints that complicate the organization of additional tests. Abiteboul admits that the weaknesses in their program mean that fixes are primarily validated on the track, adding extra pressure to this first experience at Le Mans. Areas of anxiety have been identified, but the room for maneuver remains tight.
