Nearly 100 women prepare to take the helm at the 2026 Club Marine Tasmanian Women's Keelboat Regatta next Saturday in Hobart. The Bellerive Yacht Club hosts this annual event, celebrating women’s achievements in sailing. Participants will compete in a six-boat Elliott 6-metre group, racing up to five short windward-leeward courses, alongside a larger keelboat group tackling up to three harbour races. Supported by Australian Sailing’s She Sails program and sponsored by Club Marine, the regatta features Bridget Hutton as race officer. "Whether waiting for wind or racing, the fun is undeniable," Hutton states. Defending champions Jo-Anne Verrier, Sarah Haywood, and Sarah Michael express excitement for this year’s competition, highlighting the supportive atmosphere. The regatta is fully organized by women, ensuring an empowering experience on the water. Entries close Friday.
