World Sailing opens applications for Member National Authorities (MNAs) to host women's Steering the Course technical courses for coaches, race officials, judges, umpires, and measurers. This initiative aligns with the 2026 International Women's Day theme, 'Give to Gain', emphasizing the importance of support and mentorship for women in sailing. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 10. Fiona Kidd, World Sailing's Head of International Development, highlights the critical role of technical courses in advancing women into leadership and performance roles. In 2025, successful events included a women's Judges Clinic in Brazil and various technical courses across Egypt, Chinese Taipei, and Hong Kong. In 2026, World Sailing will host two Steering the Course festivals, offering flexibility for clubs and organizations to tailor activities to their communities. These initiatives aim to enhance access, visibility, and opportunities for women and girls in sailing.
