Takamoto Katsuta seizes the Rally Sweden lead from teammate Elfyn Evans after a thrilling Friday. Starting the day in third, Katsuta finishes with a 2.8s advantage, clocking fast times across seven stages. Sami Pajari secures third, 22.2s behind, while Hyundai struggles continue. Evans initially dominates the morning, overtaking overnight leader Oliver Solberg, who loses over 30s in a snowbank mishap. By the afternoon, Katsuta capitalizes on deteriorating conditions, slashing Evans’ lead and claiming stages five and six. He takes the lead by a narrow 0.1s after stage seven. “Everything went well," says Katsuta. Evans acknowledges the evolving road conditions but remains optimistic. Pajari expresses mixed feelings about his position, while Solberg, despite a challenging day, finishes sixth. Hyundai finally secures a stage win with Thierry Neuville in SS7 but faces uphill battles in the overall competition.
