Day 1 of the iQFOiL International Games Youth & Junior kicks off with a bang at Lake Garda, showcasing 180 athletes from 21 nations. This event, running until May 9th, is organized by Circolo Surf Torbole and highlights the rising talent in Olympic windsurfing.
The competition features strong representation from France and Italy, emphasizing the event's technical caliber. Ideal sailing conditions with a classic "Ora" breeze, averaging 13-15 knots and gusting to 20, allowed for a productive day on the water. The Race Committee successfully completed four Course Races for Youth fleets and three for Juniors, making the most of the favorable weather before predicted changes.
In the Under 19 Men's fleet, Gustaw Trybek (POL) leads with 4 net points, followed closely by Louan Gouault (FRA) with 8 points and Titouan Dizet (FRA) with 11 points. Salomé Simon (FRA) dominates the Under 19 Women's category with 3 net points, ahead of Garance Chatelier-Daisay (FRA) and Vittoria Marconi (ITA).
Among the Under 17 Men, Moritz Schleicher (GER) sits at the top with 2 net points. In the Under 17 Women's fleet, Michelle Urzykowski (POL) leads the pack with 3 net points. The next race starts tomorrow at 13:00.
