Hayling Island Sailing Club's Youth Race Week makes a triumphant return in 2026, backed by title sponsor Rooster. Here’s why this event is a must-attend for young sailors: it promises an exhilarating blend of competitive racing and vibrant social activities.
Scheduled from Monday, August 3, to Friday, August 7, 2026, this event is a cornerstone of the HISC youth sailing calendar. It welcomes participants from various fleets, including Optimists, RS Tera Sport and Pro, RS Fevas, ILCA 4 and ILCA 6, and RS200s, ensuring a diverse range of abilities can compete. A total of 15 races are planned, with options for both novice and experienced sailors, from Bronze Fleet racing in Chichester Harbour to competitive action in Hayling Bay.
The social scene is equally engaging, featuring activities like Chocolate Bingo, splicing workshops, a photo booth, beach BBQ, and a surf simulator. The highlight is the Black-Tie Ball on Thursday night, complete with a three-course meal, a fun casino, and live music by DJ Freddie Covell.
