Athena Pathway reveals its race crew for the Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup Preliminary Regatta Sardinia, marking a significant moment for women's and youth sailing. This event, held in Cagliari, Italy from May 21-24, 2026, will be pivotal as it showcases the first official competition where Women & Youth teams race alongside senior squad sailors.

Hannah Mills OBE, double Olympic gold medallist, returns as skipper and helm, joined by Ellie Aldridge MBE, who recently clinched gold in Formula Kite at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The trimmer positions are filled by Matt Beck, returning from the last Youth America's Cup, and newcomer Sam Webb, selected through a rigorous trialist process from 158 applicants.

The Trialist Programme, which included simulator trials at Portland, Weymouth, has nurtured a talented core squad of 13 sailors, enhancing their high-performance skills. Sam Webb expresses his excitement, stating, “Training alongside athletes of this calibre has taught me so much,” as he prepares to face established America's Cup teams in Cagliari.

This campaign emphasizes Athena Pathway's commitment to fostering youth talent and promoting gender equality in sailing, making it a must-watch event for sports fans.
