Anthony Joshua is set to return to the ring for a warm-up fight ahead of a potential clash with Tyson Fury. Promoter Eddie Hearn confirms negotiations are ongoing for the much-anticipated bout, with Joshua seeking a July opponent following his absence due to personal tragedy.
Joshua last fought in late 2025, defeating Jake Paul after a knockout loss to Daniel Dubois. Fury's recent decision to come out of retirement and his victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov has reignited interest in the all-British heavyweight showdown. However, first, Joshua needs a fight against someone comparable to Makhmudov's level.
Three contenders emerge: Justis Huni, who boasts a record of 13-1 with 7 KOs and recently defeated Frazer Clarke. Their history dates back to training together, making a match-up a full-circle moment. Cassius Chaney, standing at 6-foot-6 and holding a record of 24-4 with 17 KOs, previously missed the chance to face Joshua but remains eager for the opportunity. Lastly, Guido Vianello, nicknamed "The Gladiator," has persistently called out Joshua, even suggesting a showdown in Rome. Each contender presents a unique challenge for Joshua as he gears up for a potential fight with Fury.
