The final day at Long Beach Yacht Club was packed with drama. Tapper, along with teammates Max Brennan, Jack Frewin, Nathan Guliksen, George Richardson, and Hamish Vass, faced elimination but staged a remarkable comeback. Both Tapper and defending champion Eric Monnin needed three consecutive wins in their semifinal matches to advance, and they delivered. Tapper defeated Chris Poole, while Monnin took down Johnie Berntsson.
In the championship round, Tapper showcased his skill under pressure. He capitalized on penalties against Monnin, seizing the lead with strategic moves. After winning the first two races, Tapper held a commanding 2-0 advantage.
