Dani Martínez faces disaster at Paris-Nice after a crash caused by teammate Laurence Pithie. With over 50 km remaining, Martínez collides with Pithie while attempting to overtake, hitting the ground hard and clutching his midsection. He starts the final stage in second place, trailing only Jonas Vingegaard.
"This is cycling. Nothing is for sure until you cross the finish line," Martínez states. Despite the pain in his ribs and arm, he almost considers quitting.
Martínez battles back, aided by Pithie and Aleksandr Vlasov, to maintain his position. At one point, his lead over third-place Georg Steinhauser shrinks to 2:08. With determination and teamwork, Martínez finishes strong, securing his spot on the General Classification podium.
