Eli Iserbyt transitions from elite rider to Cyclo-cross coordinator with A&J All Sports after a premature retirement due to health issues. This move marks a significant shift in his career, providing insights into how former champions can influence the next generation.
After grappling with severe blood flow issues and undergoing four surgeries, Iserbyt announced his retirement from all cycling in January 2026. Despite his departure from competition, he leaves behind an impressive legacy with 54 race victories, including multiple World Cup wins. His last notable performance came at the GP Sven Nys on New Year’s Day 2025.
A&J All Sports, known for representing top talents like Tadej Pogačar, welcomes Iserbyt as their new Cyclo-cross coordinator. His extensive experience at the highest level will be instrumental in guiding and developing young athletes throughout the winter season.
Iserbyt, often overshadowed by stars such as Mathieu van der Poel and Wout van Aert, was a formidable competitor, finishing in the top 10 in 29 of his last 35 races. "I am happy that I can stay in the world of cyclocross and pass on my experience," he stated, indicating his commitment to nurturing future talent in the sport.
