Ella Sabo secures her first UCI victory of the season, winning stage 4 of the Tour of the Gila in a thrilling bunch sprint. This win not only marks her seventh victory this year but highlights her dominance in the race.
Virginia's Blue Ridge TWENTY28 team expertly controlled the peloton during the intense 25-lap, 27-mile criterium in downtown Silver City, allowing Sabo to emerge victorious over Camille Desroches Laflamme and Grace Arlandson, the previous stage winner. Meanwhile, Lauren Stephens maintains her overall lead with a 1:51 advantage over Ashley Frye and 2:46 over Emily Gilbert.
In the men's race, Patrick Welch pulls off a surprise victory in the breakaway, finishing ahead of Brandon Rojas, securing back-to-back stage wins for APS Pro Cycling. Cole Kessler rounds out the top three, while Tyler Stites leads the peloton in fourth, 14 seconds back. Walter Vargas remains in the overall lead, with a 17-second cushion over Henrique de Silva Avancini.
With the challenging Gila Monster Road Race approaching, both the men and women face steep climbs that could reshape the standings as they race to the finish in Piños Altos.
