Tobias König and Giorgia Vettorello dominate the Giro Sardegna Gravel, marking a significant round in the 2026 UCI Gravel World Series. This event not only highlights their incredible performances but also serves as a key qualifier for the upcoming UCI Gravel World Championships in Australia.
König finishes the men's 110km race in a remarkable time of 3:08:05, with Anton Albrecht just over a minute behind at +1:06, and Albert Gathemann securing third at +5:37. In the women's category, Vettorello claims victory with a time of 3:41:04. Tessa Neefjes trails her at +1:50, while Nicolien Luijsterburg rounds out the podium in third at +2:00.
The race, held in the scenic Muravera-Villasimius region, features a challenging course with nearly 1,300m of elevation gain. It begins on fast coastal roads and transitions to dirt paths, culminating in a thrilling finish at Hotel Torre Salinas.
This third edition of the Giro Sardegna Gravel concludes a week of intense competition on the Mediterranean Island, showcasing the best in gravel racing and setting the stage for the world championship showdown this October.
