The Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift makes history with its first-ever team time trial set for London in 2027. Here’s why this groundbreaking event could redefine the landscape of women’s cycling.
Scheduled from July 30 to August 1, 2027, the Tour kicks off in the UK, featuring three thrilling stages. The opening stage will see riders race 85.7km from Leeds to Manchester, followed by a 154.4km route from Manchester to Sheffield. The highlight? An 18km team time trial through the streets of London, culminating on The Mall.
Race director Marion Rousse emphasizes the significance, calling the debut event "exciting and spectacular." She acknowledges the UK's passion for the Tour, promising vibrant crowds and stunning scenery.
This edition also marks a historic moment, as it will be the first time both the men's and women’s Grand Départs occur in the same foreign country. The men’s race kicks off in Edinburgh, showcasing stages across Scotland, England, and Wales before heading to France.
British cyclist Cat Ferguson from Movistar reflects on this opportunity, stating it feels like a "full circle moment." She hopes to inspire young girls to take up cycling, reinforcing the growing importance of women’s cycling on the world stage.
