Luke Lamperti clinches a landmark victory on the opening stage of Paris-Nice, marking the first win of the season for EF Education-EasyPost. The US rider, a three-time criterium national champion, outpaced Vito Braet (Lotto-Intermarché) and Orluis Aular (Movistar) in a thrilling bunch sprint in Carrières-sous-Poissy. The challenging 171.2km stage featured nearly 2,000 metres of climbing, yet the peloton held strong. After a late catch of the breakaway and several crashes in the final kilometre, Lamperti benefited from a perfect lead-out by Marijn van den Berg. Cees Bol (Decathlon CMA CGM) initially posed a challenge but quickly faded. Braet sprinted to second, while Aular secured the final podium spot. Lamperti’s victory sets a promising tone for the race ahead.
