Toms Skujiņš is out of the Spring Classics for the first time in over a decade. The Latvian champion reveals he’s sidelined due to illness, impacting Lidl-Trek and Mads Pedersen’s plans. Skujiņš fell ill during Paris-Nice and hasn’t raced or trained since. He aims to recover for the summer and the Grand Tours, having participated in seven of the last eight Tours de France. "Definitely gutted, but also impressed that I have made such a long stint in our sport," Skujiņš states on Instagram. Known for thriving in tough races, he has supported teammates like Pedersen and Mattias Skjelmose in the Flemish cobbled and Ardennes Classics. Skujiņš plans to watch more cycling on TV this spring while cheering on Lidl-Trek.
