Wout van Aert (Visma-Lease a Bike) heads to Strade Bianche this Saturday with uncertainty clouding his return. After a tough start to the Classics campaign marred by illness and bad luck, Van Aert admits he’s not sure what to expect. The former champion last raced Strade Bianche in 2021, and the landscape has shifted, with Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) dominating the field. Van Aert acknowledges his teammate Matteo Jorgenson, who has shown impressive form with a fourth and second in recent races, could be a valuable asset. "It’s been a while since I last lined up at the start of Strade Bianche," Van Aert states. He aims to use this race as a springboard for future goals alongside Tirreno-Adriatico.
