NASCAR adjusts the Daytona 500 start time to 1:30 p.m. ET Sunday due to potential weather. The green flag is set for 2:13 p.m. ET, with FOX's "NASCAR RaceDay" kicking off at 11:30 a.m. ET.
According to FOX Weather, Daytona Beach faces a 7 percent chance of rain by 4 p.m. ET, rising to 12 percent by 7 p.m. ET. Thunderstorms are expected in the evening, while partly cloudy skies follow after midnight. The day's high is 79 degrees Fahrenheit, with a low of 59 and winds at six miles per hour.
The FOX Forecast Center warns that the longer the race lasts, the worse the weather may become. Light to moderate rain could start around 6 p.m. ET, with possible lightning after 8 p.m. ET. Last year's race faced significant rain delays. NASCAR aims for a smoother 2026 Daytona 500 experience.
