The Schools British Keelboat League Championship 2026 hits Queen Mary Reservoir this weekend, February 7-8. Twenty-two teams from thirteen schools compete in the Royal Thames Yacht Club's Sonars. Day one features single lap races, easing newcomers into the sprint format, while day two dives into traditional two lap BKL races.
Debuting this year are Sherborne Girls School, Seaford College, and a team from Peter Symonds, alongside Cowes Enterprise College and Godalming College, fresh off a second-place finish at the RYA Schools Match Racing Championship.
Watch out for Royal Hospital School, recent winners of the Keelboat Team Racing and Schools Match Racing. RGS Guildford returns with two teams aiming to improve on last year’s fourth place. Cokethorpe and Radley schools sharpen their skills at Farmer this winter. All eyes are on Ryde School, last year's dominant force, as they seek to maintain their winning streak despite graduation losses. Live updates at events.ksail.co.uk/RTYC/2026/BKLSchools.
