Downs Sailing Club, in partnership with the Kent Schools Sailing Association, hosts the NSSA National Schools Regatta 2026 from July 20-24. Supported by Pinnell & Bax, the event attracts youth teams from across the UK, featuring racing on four courses. Competitions include Toppers, ILCA/Laser, Handicap, and a Regatta fleet for young sailors new to multi-day events. A special midweek program showcases the Mount Haes Trophy in Melges 15 and includes a single-handed race in Toppers. Downs Sailing Club, experienced in national youth events, offers fair racing conditions off Deal in Kent and excellent spectator visibility. Teams enjoy camping nearby and meal packages, with a full schedule of evening activities planned. A strong volunteer base ensures smooth operations. Event communications will be available via a dedicated website and social media. Phil Halldron, Commodore, emphasizes the club’s pride in hosting, while Rhys Rollitt from P&B highlights the importance of youth regattas.
