The Dragon class boasts an impressive 15 entries for the 2026 Cowes Classics Regatta, making it the largest fleet of all 21 participating classes. This highlights the significant appeal of the Dragons as the regatta approaches, held from June 4th to 7th in the Central Solent.

This year, the Dragons will compete in a dedicated three-day program featuring seven races, with the added excitement of determining the 2026 British Dragon Association Classic Championship. Six Classic Dragons are in the mix, adding intensity to the competition.

Among the notable entries is the beautifully restored Dragon Penguin, recently relaunched in Cowes after extensive refurbishment. Her participation underscores the enduring legacy of the Dragon class, showcasing boats from various generations racing together.

Co-Owner Rhys Jones expresses excitement about competing alongside other classic Dragons, emphasizing the thrill of being part of this esteemed fleet.

The regatta not only promises fierce on-water action but also upholds the strong social tradition of Dragon events, with a special drinks reception hosted by Ithaca owner Michael Cover.
