The European sailing season kicks off with a bang as GP Watercraft showcases its support for athletes on the international circuit. This year’s journey begins at the Grand Prix in Vilamoura, Portugal, where sailors face challenging light and unstable conditions, testing their patience and decision-making skills. Key competitors, including AP, Matteo, Molly, Florencia, and Finn, gain valuable experience in a tough fleet.
Back in the UK, the ILCA UK National Open events unfold, with Matteo clinching victory and AP finishing third overall among females at the opening event. Different venues, Warsash and Weymouth, provide sailors with essential testing grounds early in the season.
Next, the spotlight turns to the prestigious Princess Sofia Regatta in Palma de Mallorca. AP excels, entering the finals in second place and finishing 32nd out of 144 sailors. Julia achieves an impressive sixth place in her fleet, highlighting the competitive spirit of GP-supported athletes.
Off the water, GP Watercraft expands its Nautivela range, launching new models like the 420 and Optimist, enhancing support for youth and performance sailing. The company also collaborates with Zhik to bolster retail and partnership operations, while sponsoring the Royal Lymington Yacht Club Optimist Open, celebrating emerging talent in the sport. With spring transitioning to summer, GP Watercraft ramps up preparations across the board.
